Turn the Autumn yearning burn into chic burned burgundy, eye shadow, & candles.
For the autumn lovers craving to make the most of a two-month experience, learn to romanticize the dry season of changing colors, reflection, and caving of summer through chic embracement of the little things.
Whether you lather in the chill of East Coast crunchy leaves and layered sweaters or soak the West Coast sun in pumpkin-flavored iced drink, both coasts are connected through the symbolism of autumn. Life slows down for some, and paces to its own beat for others. Yet, we change colors the way nature commands its layers to.
Change is chic, might as well join it.
Slow nights? So chic.
A fall-scented candle has saved me from many bad decisions. The tranquility of a clean space, simple fresh flowers, and a dimly lit candle will calm the impulsive thoughts from the autumn panic.
Avoid using a Bath and Body Works candle to elevate the feeling of candle luxury. Instead, use an affordable candle with simple and elegant packaging. A neutral but autumn tone, glass material, and small candle can go a long way.
For interior design elements, consider placing the candle next to a flower vase with intentional placement. I light candles on my desk and vanity before I begin my night routine to signal my body to relax and prepare for rest. Plus, it looks chic!
Autumn is for a muted color palette.
Curating a fall outfit can be exciting because it is a season that most look forward to. From pumpkin patch trips, halloween parties, and coffee runs, your outfit can be layered with neutral colors and flexibility. As a California native, my go-to fall fit consists of well-lived boot cut high rise jeans, buckled belt, a thrifted hand bag, a basic short-sleeve, accent jacket, and just the right height of a boot or heel.
The fall outfit pictured is unintentionally intentional because it provides style, comfort, and flexibility for unpredictable temperatures. A prepared girl? Chic.
Healthy hosting
My annual Halloween party is my favorite event to organize. Each year, I create a large grazing table of charcuterie and vegetables that my family and I bond over making together. We shape cheese into coffins, pretzels into bones, and raspberry jam into a bloody skeleton. If you are looking to host friends or family without the hasle of cooking, this is a great option to feed a large group of people while filling space for decor.
To complete the tablescape, consider adding dry red florals and burgundy colors in a fitting vase.
Boo-nding with others
There are endless activities to do during fall. From spooky movie night sleepovers to themed mocktail making, spending time with our loved ones is more than chic.
If you are looking for a cost-friendly, cozy, and simple activity. Consider lighting candles, decorating your space, ordering some comfort food, and watching your favorite Halloween movie.
A bonding experience with a loved one can heal, relax, and resurface things that mean the most to us. In the middle of a season that is full of change and quick approaching end of year reflections, slowing down is the chicest you can get.
